New Experiences

Hi, my name is Lyndy Baer.  I am a freshman here at Pitt-Greensburg.  This year I will be wearing #15.  I am a Math major with a minor in Actuarial Sciences.  My college experience has been pretty good so far! It is definitely a huge change from what I am used to.

My classes have all been manageable so far this semester.  I really learned how to manage my time while being here.  I really love the campus here! It is really pretty and small which I prefer.  Being away from home a lot is difficult for me, but the girls on the team are so great and make me forget about my homesickness!

Becoming a part of this basketball program has been a great experience.  College basketball is a lot different than high school!  All of the older girls are doing a good job getting us freshman into the system.  I appreciate everything they do for me!

Overall, this college experience has been a big change for me.  But I don't think I would have been able to get through it without my teammates!  We all get along so well on and off the court. I can't wait for our games to get started!

The Start of a New Beginning!!!!!

Hello everyone, my name is Lindsey McKamish. I am a junior here at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg wearing number 10. I am an Early Childhood Education Major with a Minor in Psychology. The start of school has been great thus far! I cannot even believe it is the end of October already! This year is going by so fast and I cannot believe that our first game is only less than 3 weeks away.

We had an amazing pre-season as a team. We are all working hard and I can tell our hard work is going to pay off! We had our first official practice October 15th at midnight! It was an amazing way to kick off our season. We had our first scrimmage against Seton Hill a week ago! We played extremely hard which we always do! We have our next scrimmage in a week from tomorrow against Bethany!

Off the court, our team is extremely close. I love every girl on this bobcat team! We go out to team dinners, team movies, and even just hang out in the dorm rooms together. Last night the coaches surprised the whole team with taking us to a Haunted Farm!!!! It was the most fun I have had in a while. We all were together laughing, and screaming the whole night. I believe that every time we hang out we continue to grow closer and closer. This is going to help us both on and off the court.

I am so excited for our first game and cannot wait to see the continue success our team will have this upcoming season!!!

PROJECT BUNDLE-UP

Yesterday, we joined Captain Pamela Rhodes of the Greensburg Salvation Army to help with “Project Bundle-Up”. A program that serves needy and disabled senior citizens and disadvantaged children, ranging from infant to teens, “Project Bundle-Up” provides those in need with winter outwear. Eligibility for the program is based on economic need, and vouchers are used to obtain winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and boots for participants.

For the fourth year in a row, our players and coaching staff headed to Greensburg Wal-Mart to take children and senior citizens on personal shopping sprees, explain vouchers to families, and help cashiers bag purchases. “Project Bundle-Up” is just one of the wonderful programs and services offered by the Greensburg Salvation Army, which has been serving our local community since 1903.
