Hey It's April Again!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their families!!  It was so nice being home for a week and spending time with my family and friends.  I missed everyone at home and enjoyed catching up with them.

As for the season, we started off great with a record of 5-5.  It's amazing how well we all play together.  I couldn't imagine playing with a better group of girls.  Since we had off for Christmas, we are currently practicing twice a day to get ready for our tournament in D.C.  We leave Sunday and I am so excited for the games!  I have never been to D.C. so I'm also excited to visit!!  Lets finish the year strong with some wins bobcats!

Hey guys! It’s Emily Nelson again.

This year has started off great! We are currently 5-5 and ready to come back even stronger the second semester!  I couldn’t ask for a better team, on and off the court. Everyone is awesome! I am so excited for our D.C. trip. I’m ready to get some wins and bring in the new year with my team!

Also, last weekend, Megan, Courtney, and I made a stop over at my house to visit my family. When we got here, my dad welcomed us in the driveway with his horse! Megan was overly excited and decided she wanted to ride the horse, Shawnee. Like anything we do, this was a sight to see. Megan and the horse had a very strong connection and she plans to come back and ride her very soon.

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT HOLIDAY!

Hey There!

Hey everyone, it's Lexi Elliott.

First I would like to say that all of our thoughts and prayers go to Chianti Sivek and her family. Your father loved you guys and is in good hands. Stay strong and keep on keepin' on. We love you Chianti and family and all of us are here for you!

As for how basketball is going, I couldn't ask for better teammates. This is an awesome group of young ladies and I'm excited to be a part of this team. We had a big win this weekend against Frostburg! Won for the first time in 3 years! I'm excited to play again on Tuesday against Westminster. I know we can get this win! I am also excited to go to D.C. soon and play against top division 3 teams!

I'm heading home for the first time since summer! YAY! and Christmas is coming up! So.. I hope everyone has an awesome, amazing-tastic Christmas and a happy New Year!

Hi guys it’s Chianti again!
I can already tell this year is going to be different than any other year.  Our team has the determination and strive to become the best.  Every team has something they need to work on in order to get where they want to be, but because all of us girls want it so bad, we will work until we get there.

An important thing our coaches have had us do is set a goal every month.  We have to say how we think our record will be, what we will bring to the table, what our strengths are and also what the weaknesses are.  By doing this we are able to see what we have to do to be successful.  Our team has set very high goals this year, and if we do what the coaches tell us to, we will reach them!  I think that we work even harder knowing other teams look down on us, and that is what sets fuel to the fire.

Can’t wait to prove everyone wrong!

One mind. One heart. One team<3

Hey Everyone its Megan Hans. This week has been very exciting for multiple reasons!

1) WE WON OUR FIRST CONFERENCE GAME!!!!!! ;) HEYYYYYY

2) My roommate Emily Nelson broke a school record with 19 points and 13 assists.

3) Kayla broke her high score!!!!!!

Everyone is working so hard to prove that we have what it takes to be the best.  The attitudes of our team have been so positive, especially after our win.  We have another big game Tomorrow against Penn State Behrend and I think we can all imagine the atmosphere is going to be crazy!  Our team is so close and we are one big family, including the coaches!  I can’t imagine playing with anyone else besides this team and we will do great things.

We also had a little problem this week….

I received a text message from a fellow teammate asking for help. I accepted the challenge to drive Courtney Dibridge’s car outside of North Hills territory.  If you know me, I can only drive in North Hills and I drive like a grandma (15 mph).  I successfully merged onto the highway without hitting a single vehicle.  I learned where Westmorland hospital was and found myself with a dilemma: I could either risk parking where the ambulance parks or to park in the employee parking lot. I choose the employee parking lot and risked a 300 dollar fine.  I then sat with Courtney for a long time where we met a wonderful lady named Linda, who happens to be a huge fan of the women’s basketball team at Pitt Greensburg.  While leaving, a Tow truck was about to tow Courtney’s car, so I did a full sprint, which was equivalent to a down and back and told them my teammate was sick.  They apologized for not understanding the situation and gave me an employee parking pass which allows me, during any emergency, to park nearest to the hospital.  Courtney is feeling a lot better thankfully and should have a full recovery.

COME READY OR NEVER START!

LETS GO BOBKITTYS <3

Congrats Em!!!

In last night's AMCC win over Mount Aloysius, Freshman Emily Nelson set a new single-game school record, dishing out 13 assists. She also earned the first double-double of her career, scoring 19 points. In 34 minutes of play, she turned the ball over only twice.

Great job Em!

Hey guys this is Kayla!!!!!

Hello everyone! My name is Kayla Dames #5! we just had our first win Tuesday and it was the best feeling. We worked so hard and we all came together to pull out the win. Since we have our first win under our belt we have the confidence we need going into the next game against Mount Aloysius on November 28. This season isn't even comparable to last year. I love my team, we are all best friends, and get along so well! Which is why we all play so well together. I couldn't imagine playing with a better group of girls. Cant wait to win more games with these girls and especially our coaches:)

Happy (Early) Thanksgiving!!

Before practice tonight, we had the opportunity to volunteer at the Salvation Army in Greensburg - serving Thanksgiving Dinner to members of the community. A total of 90 people enjoyed a wonderful dinner of turkey, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans, stuffing, and rolls. After dinner, there was pie for dessert!!

We each had different responsibilities, but all of us stayed pretty busy. Some of the girls were in charge of serving food and others manned the drink/dessert table. We also checked people in, seated families, and cleaned up after the dinner had concluded. The girls had a wonderful time getting to know other volunteers and local community members who attended the dinner.

Court and Lexi serve-up turkey!!

Emily, Lindsey, April, and Megan pass out pie :)

Morgan, Brittany, Amanda, and Kayla take a break from serving
to pose for a picture with another volunteer!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF OUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, and FANS WHO CHEER US ON FROM BOTH AT HOME AND IN THE STANDS!! WE'RE VERY THANKFUL FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

Road to Success!

Hello everyone! The season is on our way. I am beyond excited to be given the chance to play basketball again this year. I cannot even believe that last year at this time I was getting ready for surgery, and now I am on the court playing again. The team that coach has put together is amazing! We have a lot of young potential to do some major damage this year. Every single one of us get along so well, and we never have a dull moment when we are together. It is a great team to be apart of and I do not know where I would be without each one of my teammates. This weekend is our TIP OFF TOURNEY!!! We are so excited to play this weekend in the tournament. I know that every one of us want to go out to Ohio and kick some butt coming back 2-0. We are so determined and have the drive to go out there and do just that!

Bobcats in the Community...

Yesterday, Morgan, Brittany, Coach Waters, and I volunteered for the Salvation Army, ringing bells for their red kettle campaign. It was a beautiful November day, as it was close to 60 degrees out, and it felt good to be out volunteering in the Greensburg community. To me, the red kettle is a sign that the holiday season is right around the corner. As a child, I would be so excited when my mom would hand me change or a dollar bill to put in the kettle. It made me smile to see so many young kids doing the same yesterday!! All donations taken during the kettle campaign help the Salvation Army aid needy families, seniors, and the homeless.

Brittany and Morgan volunteering!!
The history of the Red Kettle dates back to 1891, where it was started by a Salvation Army Captain in San Francisco who wanted provide a Christmas dinner to those in need. Over the years, the kettle developed into a nationwide effort. Today, in the US alone, the Salvation Army will assist more than four and a half million people during the Thanksgiving and Christmas time periods. This assistance includes Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners, clothing, toys, basic necessities, and financial assistance for those in need.

As tip-off weekend approaches, please visit our blog for season updates and information regarding the rest of our volunteer work in the community.

Bobcat Lovin'

Hey everyone, my name is Lexi and I am from Gilbert, Arizona. I graduated from Desert Ridge High School and am studying biology here at UPG. As teammate Courtney would tell everyone I wear sandals all the time....yes even when it's cold... and Coach Eaton said I was most likely to wear sandals in a snow storm (which I have done before and it wasn't a pleasing experience, so I will wear boots when it snows, but other than that I'll stick to my sandals).

I cannot be more excited for this years season. Coming out of last season, I have high expectations for these girls and I could not be more proud to be a member of this team with these girls. We played our scrimmage today against Bethany and it is plain to see that these girls are working hard and improving every day. I can't wait to open the season in the Bluffton tournament.

Project Bundle-Up

At the end of last month, we had the opportunity to volunteer with the Salvation Army’s “Project Bundle-Up”.  For those of you who don’t know what “Project Bundle-Up” is, it is a program that serves needy and disabled senior citizens and disadvantaged children, ranging from infant to teens, providing those in need with winter outerwear. Eligibility for the program is based on economic need. Each year, the Salvation Army joins forces with local merchants to raise money to fund this program.

My first experience with “Project Bundle-Up” was back when I was the assistant women’s basketball coach at Pitt-Johnstown. It was one of the volunteer opportunities offered to our student-athletes, and I decided to participate with some of our athletes. After spending the evening shopping with kids, I couldn’t get over how amazing the program was. When I was hired at Pitt-Greensburg, one of my first phone calls was to our Salvation Army to see if they ran a local “Project Bundle-Up”. This marked the third straight year our players and coaches have participated in the program.

Back on October 22, we joined Captain Pamela Rhodes and Belinda Jozefowicz from the Greensburg Salvation Army at the Greensburg Wal-Mart. We helped explain vouchers to families, took children and senior citizens on person shopping sprees, and helped cashiers bag purchases. The Greensburg Salvation Army, which has served our community since 1903, offers a number of tremendous program and services to our local community, many of which we will be helping with throughout the year.

AINT no cats like the BOBCATS

Hello my bobcat groupies,

It's Brittany #13 checking in on the old blog here. Sophomore season is underway and I must say being an upperclassman now is a lot different from the first year and I actually have a clue. Thankfully for me I have my fellow bobcats there for support. This team and coaches really are my second family and we all keep each other going through the good and the bad times. I have a very talented group of teammates and with hard work and desire we should exceed and go above all the goals we are reaching for. Let’s get it girls and show everyone what we can do!!! AHHH MAN I LOVEEE MY KITTIESSS <3

Aww Yeah Bobcats Yeah

Hola Bobcat followers!
Im Morgan, #35 and a sophmore here at UPG! So far this season has been off to a good start! It's definitely a new experience being the upper classman at this level and actually having some clue of whats going on this season. Our team is becoming closer now that season has started... it may sound corny but your team really is like your family. They are your best friends: you laugh, fight, beat each other up in practice but no one outside the team understands what games are like or what conditioning and practice is like on a daily basis.

Courtney DiBridge - #11

Hello everyone!

I am a sophomore here at Pitt-Greensburg and a member of the women's basketball team. I graduated from Hempfield Area High School and decided to further my education and basketball career here at Pitt-Greensburg.

It has been an amazing start to this year. I absolutely LOVE my roommates (Amanda, Emily, and Megan) andddd all the girls on the team this year! I don't know what I would do without these girls and I am so thankful that this year is such a great group to be around. The returners and incoming freshman really seemed to hit it off and we all have become really close and are basically like a family!

Porkney, Smalls, Fat Megan and Shmanda Panda

AKA:

Amanda, Megan, Me, Emily

Coming out of last year, I have extremely high expectations not only for myself but for this basketball team. Underachieving is not an option this year. I feel that the group of girls we have are all on the same page and are just as excited as I am for this upcoming season. We will not settle for anything less than we know we can achieve.

With that being said, it's the start of a new year for the bobkitties and things have officially kicked off with our Midnight Madness practice. Although I have been sidelined for a month now, and have been restricted to stationary activities I am still working hard to get back out there. I had to be in a walking boot and sent to rehab for 4 weeks now! Being injured has taught me how much I do appreciate the game, and not to take advantage of the time I have left to play.

All in all it should be a great year for the bobkitties and we will show that hard work pays off!

Here We Go...

In less than two hours, we will kick-off the 2012-13 season with a little "Midnight Madness" skills, fitness, and strength challenge. The two Bobcats with the highest point total at the end of the challenge will earn all of their practice gear and team sneakers without having to get their times in our Deep 6 and Sweet Sixteen sprints at our second practice. Coach Waters and I have absolutely no predictions on who the winners will be as the challenge is varied enough for there to be a lot of so-called "favorites". As in most battles, it'll come down to who wants it more.

As always, the start of a new season begins with fresh expectations, new faces, and a lot of excitement. This beginning, however, is a little bittersweet for me as it's the first time I'll start a season without my Grandma Thompson, who passed away back in May. My Grandma was never one who loved basketball like I do. When she came to my games she often thought it was unfair that I had to dribble the ball down the court every single time (I was the PG) when there were four other girls on the floor. It seemed like a lot of work for one person, she said, and I always laughed. She honestly wouldn't have cared if I was standing at the end of the bench passing out water - I was her Granddaughter and she came to my games simply because of that.

What my Grandma did love, though, was hearing stories about my teams and our trips, and all the places my love for basketball had taken me between jobs, recruiting trips, tournaments, and conventions. Once when I was an assistant at UPJ, the team stopped at my parent's house for a team dinner before we played an exhibition at YSU, and she came over to meet everyone. She hugged all of the girls and kept saying over and over "You're all so tall and beautiful". The girls got such a kick out of my sweet, little Grandma expressing her amazement of how tall they all were (even those who were 5'7"). What they didn't understand is that my Grandma always said what she meant - that's how she saw each and every one of them - tall and beautiful.

I'm a big believer that people are at the heart of every organization, and my Grandma was one of the best people I've ever known. When I stepped to the pulpit at her funeral to give her eulogy, I was overcome with emotion - it was simply one of the hardest things I have ever done. I never thought it would be easy, but I thought I could get through it because I felt honored to have the opportunity to speak about such an amazing woman. What I didn't realize, however, was how hard it would be to speak the words that in summation meant goodbye.

As I arrived to the office tonight, I realized that the moments in which I will miss my Grandma will never cease, but I also smiled because I know how much she'd love to hear about tonight and this team. I can hear her laughing as she'd tell me how "hard" I had made the challenge. Then she'd remind me that she was sure they were all trying their very best. Throughout this season, I'll try my best to always remember that...

Freshman #3 Amanda Estok

Hello everyone my name is Amanda and I am a freshman here at UPG! I graduated from Gateway High School which is in Monroeville, PA about 40 minutes away from here. I am living in University Courts with my beautiful roommates Courtney, Emily and Megan. So far my transition into college has been smooth thanks to my amazing roommates and my basketball team. I am very excited for this season to begin in four days!! We have been working so hard during preseason and have high expectations, we are hoping to have an excellent season. I live in the University Courts with Megan, Courtney and Amanda. There is never a dull moment in our house. Chianti Sivek, Freshman #23

Hey guys!  I’m Chianti Sivek and I graduated from Ringgold High School, which is only about 45 minutes away.  I have two older sisters, and crazy parents that you will be able to hear cheering in the stands! I’m a freshie here at UPG and so far I like it a lot!  My major is Criminal Justice and down the road I plan to become a probation officer or work with kids in a juvenile detention center.  I live up at Robert Shaw and I must admit we are pretty SHAWESOME.  Not only has my roommate been a big help with making this transition into college a lot of fun, but so have the girls on the team! I was, and still am really nervous about being here and being away from home, but everyone has helped me through it a lot! I think this year is going to be one for the books! Don't just talk about it, be about it.

California Love...

Yesterday Mo was in the office doing some homework and listening to music on her laptop. After a few of what my players would consider "old-school" rap songs came on, she asked me if I liked 2Pac or Biggie. She seemed shocked that the answer was yes. I was shocked that it was even a question - 2Pac is my favorite rapper of all time, with Biggie being a close second.

After learning that some of our players enjoy the occasional 2Pac or Biggie song,  I decided to take a poll of the team and coaching staff on what their favorite 'Summer Song' or the song that got the most play on their I-Pod during summer vacation was. And the results were....

DISCLAIMER: Parental Advisory Applies
Coaching Staff:
Coach Waters - "No Hurry" - Zac Brown Band
Me - "Pontoon" - Little Big Town

Sophomores:
Mo - "Blood" - In This Moment
Brittany - "Good Vibrations" - Marky Mark
Kayla - "Super Bass" - Nicki Minaj
Courtney - "Bonfire" - Childish Gambino
Lexi - "Slight Work" - Wale
Megan - "Boyfriend" - Justin Bieber

Freshmen:
Amanda - "You See Me" - Childish Gambino
Emily - "No Lie" - Drake
Chianti - "Call Me Maybe" - Carly Rae Jepsen
April - "Only One" - Sammy Adams

After seeing the above list and not recognizing half the artists, I've decided that I'm officially old. The girls' reaction to the fact that I like 2PAC and Biggie meant they already knew that. I tried to explain that it's actually more acceptable for me to like them considering I wasn't three or four years old (as they were) when 2PAC and Biggie were alive.

Who knows, though, maybe it was all a dream, they were in preschool reading Word Up magazine...

April Swallow, Freshman #21

Hey! My name is April Swallow, and I am a freshman here at UPG. I graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Jefferson Hills, which is about 45 minutes away. I am majoring in Biology, and I hope to one day become a physical therapist. I chose to come to UPG because it's close to home and has a beautiful campus. Even though I’m not far from home, I still miss my parents and my sister.  The girls on the team are amazing and have made my transition to college much easier. I’m really excited for the season to start and for the team to achieve great things!!!!!!!!

Megan Hans, Sophomore #25

Hola! I’m Megan Hans and this is my first semester at UPG. I’m a transfer student from Carlow University and I really didn’t enjoy my freshman year at all.  I live around 45 Minutes away in North Hills and I really love and miss my family back home.  I was really nervous about transferring schools, but my roommates Courtney, Amanda, and Emily made me feel right at home.  The Girls on the basketball team are amazing, on the court and off and I already feel so close to them. Playing basketball with the bobkitties has made me fall in love once again with the game.  I have a great feeling about this season, so lets “TWIRK” it.

The FRESHMEN are HERE!!

On Thursday, our five freshmen arrived on campus. We were very excited to welcome our second recruiting class (minus Megan who will arrive on Sunday) to campus, and couldn't wait to see their rooms. It seemed as if some of them should have hired a moving company to help with the process, but somehow, someway all of their stuff actually fit in the rooms!!

University relations was able to grab pictures of four of our newcomers moving in, which ended up on the main Pitt-Greensburg website. Somehow April was able to avoid the "Move-In Day" picture.

Emily and Amanda

Taylor and Chianti

After everyone was partially setlled in, the girls prepared to head off to Convocation, which was when I received this absurd picture via text. I wasn't the least bit suprised...

After Convocation, Coach and I were able to get all of the freshmen (sporting their super-cool dorm shirts) together for a quick pic. Welcome to COLLEGE girls - we're so glad you decided to become BOBCATS!!

hiii bobkitties!

Hii everyone I hope you are all having a good summer! Even though I've had a good summer I cant wait to get back to my bobcat family. I missed my home. I only attended Greensburg for a semester but I consider all of the girls and coaches family and miss you all. But being away from everyone my summer has been very fun and exciting! In July I went on a cruise with my family. We went on a seven day cruise. There was four stops. We went to Haiti, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Cozumel. It was so much fun and I got to experience a lot of new things. I went swimming with the dolphins in Cozumel, I went snorkeling in Grand Cayman and I went zip lining in Jamaica. It was definitely a vacation I will never forget! The downfall of the summer I had to work five to six days a week at Abercrombie and Fitch. Its not the most exciting job, but its a job. I also had to take summer classes. I took an Economics class and an art class at Pitt's main campus. I've also made time to work out five days a week to stay in shape for season. I ran in my first trail run this summer. It was five miles and I would do it again in a heart beat. It was a lot of fun running through the woods. You also got to run through mud and puddles and everyone got really dirty but had fun while doing it. Finally to end my summer I am traveling to California this Saturday to visit my boyfriend. I will get a chance to see Disney Land and the Hollywood sign!! Im so excited:) By the time i get back there is only ten more days until im back home with my bobkitties! i cant wait and i miss you all dearly! love

Thursday, August 2, 2012

HEY HEY HEY!! :D

Sooooo..... I"M SO EXCITED TO COME BACK!! I've missed Greensburg, my returning and incoming bobkitties, the coaches, and all the other people outside the team. The whole Greensburg crew, team and all, have become my new family. I kind of feel lost back here in AZ without you guys. Besides the fact that I miss all of you, summer has been pretty awesome! Workouts are going pretty well and I have recently had the chance to work with a shooting gun. It is pretty awesome I must say. I don't have to rebound my own ball and it does the passing for me. :) I worked basketball camps that my high school put on and I went to San Diego with my high school's girls team for a tournament and helped them out. And I have been playing pick up games with the guys so I can keep up with the fast paced play. I also was happy to have the chance for my boyfriend to come out to AZ  for 3 weeks and he helped me work on some post workouts. Outside of basketball, I've pretty much been getting my tan on in the amazing Arizona sun. Besides getting to see my family, getting a tan was up there on my priorities list, but not above basketball of course. You guys won't have to hear me complain about my tan for a while, which is good. I take my dreadful, long, cramped drive to Greensburg on August 13th, and even though I have to endure that, I cannot wait to get back and see everyone. I'm so excited to start this year and I'm actually really excited to play with a small team because I'm up for the challenge of playing taller teams. I can't wait to hear Eaton's wonderful eatonisms this year and having Coach Waters on the bench every game and having Coach Pioli back as a volunteer. It is going to be a fun, eventful year. Did I happen to mention that I'm really excited to be back? I don't think I can say it enough :) Well, I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer and I will see everyone soon! Be ready to work hard bobkitties, because this is gonna be a great year for us!

Thursday, July 26, 2012

hellllllo everyone!!!!!!

Hope you guys are all having a great and amazing summer. I miss everyone so much and cannot wait to be back at school. At the end of the year I could not wait to go home and relax but after about 1 month I wanted to be back at school. I am so excited for this upcoming school year, it will be a lot more fun because I know how college is and am more comfortable, instead of being a scared little freshman. This summer has been EXTREMELY busy for me. I started out the summer taking 2 courses (philosophy and sign language 1). School in the summer is for sure annoying, however, a VERY smart decision to do because classes are always easier. I was supposed to take sign language II second summer but that got cancelled. I also have been working at a little kids ultimate sports camp. I absolutely love my job and being able to get experience with children. After being outside from 8-2 I am beyond tired though!!!

Summer league is almost over now for us. We just have next week left and then that is it. It has been so nice being able to play finally. I am working out constantly to try and get back in shape after 9 months off from my injury. I am just sooo happy and blessed that I am able to play again and cannot wait to get to play with my team for the first time this season. It has been really nice getting to see how all the freshman play in summer league and we are starting to connect as a team. But we do miss 3 of our KEY KEY KEY players Britt Mo and Lex (we also miss Amanda because she is still recovering from her ACL tear). But I know as soon as school starts they will all jump right in. I am beyond excited for this season because I know even though we are undersize everyone of our players have the heart and attitude that they want to win, and I know that we can do something special this season and we will!

Besides school and basketball the only really relaxing and exciting thing I am doing is this upcoming weekend. Me and Kayla Dames are going to visit our roommate who lives in Lancaster and going to go to the beach so that will be a fun trip. We did a family weekend to 7 springs last weekend and even though the weather was HORRIBLE it was just relaxing being able to spend time with my family. Well that is about all I have to say! MISSSS EVERYONE AND SEE YOU ALL SOON

LETS GO BOBKITTTTIESSSSSSS

WHATT UPP BOBKITTIES :)

I miss you all so much and I hope that everyone is enjoying the hot summer and having time with family and good friends. Being away from them at school made me appreciate the time now I get to spend with them, so I hope you all are just having a blast and partying and whatnot (just kiddin coach) ;)

I cannot wait to start an exciting new season with my returning kitties and the new youngsters. I don't wanna go on about getting in the gym and all that because we are all big girls and if you know what’s good for you... you will be doing what needs to be done. We have high expectations that should be NO problem achieving.

Anyways have a great rest of the summer and relax and get ready for some hard work to come and of course some great times as well.

meoowwwwwwwwwwww i love my bobkitties <3

Courtney DiBridge - My Summer (:

First I want to start off by saying that I hope everyone is having a fun and relaxing summer so far. Hope all the bobkitties are getting workouts in and are as excited I am for this coming season!

This summer I have been one busy bobkitty! I am currently working as a work study in Oakland at the main campus in the Psychology Department 3 days a week. The days I am not working I have been taking a Sign Language course at Westmoreland Community College.

I have been working out a lot and working out with some of my fellow teammates which has gotten me more and more excited for this coming season. So far, the summer league has been going well. Although it was a rough first few games I think chemistry is building and we are starting to play better and together. It has been fun and I'm so hyped to play with everyone this season and I have high expectations for us this year!

I am also super excited for my rooming situation, I get to room with 3 of my fellow teammates. Emily, Amanda and Megan! This should be an extremely fun time with lots of memories I know will last me a lifetime!

Can't wait for this year and to have my second family back! Hope everyone is as excited as I am and I look forward to hearing about everyone else's summer (:

Team Awards

As the first month of summer is winding down, I realized I never gave a shout-out to the winners of our team awards. At the conclusion of this past season, each of our players voted for two team awards - MVP and Newcomer of the Year. I've always thought the winners of awards voted on solely by their teammates should be very proud of the respect their teammates have for them.

And the winners were...

Casey Stanton #34
2011-2012 WBB MVP

Courtney DiBridge #11
2011-2012 WBB Newcomer of the Year

STANTON NAMED 1st TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE

Casey Stanton, our lone senior, was selected 1st Team All-AMCC. The only player in the AMCC to average a double-double in league play, Stanton led the AMCC in rebounds per game and blocks per game (2.6 bpg). She finished third in the league in scoring (15.4 ppg), and was ranked in the Top 25 nationally in NCAA DIII in two statistical categories - double-doubles (13th - 14 in 25 games) and rebounds per game (20th).
She was named the AMCC Player of the Week for the week of November 28th and was also tabbed to the Washington and Jefferson All-Tournament Team and the Jim Meagle Turkey Shoot All-Tournament Team.

Earlier this season, Casey reached the 1,000 point plateau in only 70 career games, making her the fastest player to 1,000 in program history. After only three seasons in a Bobcat uniform, she leaves our program as the all-time leader in blocked shots (172), 3rd all time in career rebounds (788), and 7th all time in career scoring (1,127). For the second year in a row, she led our squad in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots.

CONGRATS on a TREMENDOUS CAREER CASEY!
As always, WE'RE PROUD of YOU!!

BIDDLE SELECTED 3RD TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE

After a breakout second semester where she averaged 11.2 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game, Morgan Biddle was named Third Team All-AMCC. Since our game versus Franciscan on January 4th, Mo shot 43% from the field, 40% from 3 point land, and 80% from the FT line. Overall, Mo ranked 5th in the AMCC in blocks per game, 6th in offensive rebounds per contest, 7th in FT percentage, and 10th in rebounding.

She recorded six double-doubles in her first season as a Bobcat, and was one of only two freshmen in the AMCC to be named all-conference. Mo led our team in 3 point field goal percentage and offensive rebounds, was 2nd in rebounding and 3rd in scoring.

CONGRATS MO -- we're PROUD of YOU!!
